Kas factory sale and the thai mascot

A trip for a lousy cushion cover...I still can't comprehend why we need lots of cushion cover. For one, I dun use pillow esp those on the couch...coz I dun sit on couches...i'm a more floor man..and spending 70 dollar for covers is ridiculous. I never thought she gonna buy covers worth RM200....its just cushion covers for crying out loud...it's not like the queen gonna visit our place..anyway after her therapy we went to the usual thai restaurant in mascot...and as usual the cook loudly says salam to us...ordered bbq chicken...glass noodle salad...awesomely hot and sweet sour vegie...this time, chose the right menu and we had a lovely lunch accompanied by anuar zain's song on their sound system. The cook smiled at me after playing the song..maybe he figured we're malaysian and I gave him a thumbs up..now that a good service...customer first !

Now have to wait for the bus with a full stomach...

The Mac Wannabe

After coming back from Msia..i decided to get a new toy...so last tuesday after coming back from the office...search the eeepc in ebay. I was looking for the 7inch model but then i just realised..7 inch is not enuff to watch my movies...so i i think i can afford the extra 2 inch for couple hundred bucks. So after searching in ebay for couple of minute most f the retailer comes from china or hong kong...its a bit dodgy and expensive delivery...so i googled it in google obviously and found the cheapest offer in www.shoppingsquare.com.au.

So i picked the white one..coz it screams " When i grow up, i wanna be a macbook!" slogan and checked out my shopping cart... Paid it the next day via Bpay...coz i lost my sim card back in msia so i cant get the TAC from the internet banking..it was pretty easy and safe. On thursday morning, i checked the status of my order...it was changed from unpaid to paid..then 1 hr later the status changed again to prep for delivery. On late thursday, the system prompt me a consignment note issued by the courier co. I checked into their online system but it returned an error...the note does not exist..oooppss...not a very good sign....but i stayed calm till friday before i push the panic button. On friday morning...went into their online tracking again..and voila...it's in sydney and on its way to my office... I usually addressed it there coz other half dun want to be disturb during her beauty sleep. Around 3pm, the courier man walked thru the door and i jumped in joy!

So...since friday night till sunday...i've been in front of the new toy..pimping it out like there's no tomorrow...I won't go into details of the innards of the piece of machinery..google it and read their professional review...way easier and better grammar than me..but i would like to say...it's good enough for me....and here's why

1. it has SSD not the spinning HD..less capacity but shock proof
2. SD card reader builtin - i hate to pull out the sd card from the camera and plug it in the external card reader...it's a waste of time and space
3. very light - the thinkpad is 1.2kg but this one is less than 1kg..it's has gone thru serious diet
4. great community - www.eeeuser.com - i've got alot of info to install ubuntu from this site.....
5. wifi enabled...i can't imagine living without a wireless router nearby...dunno why

the return.....

we arrived yesterday morning around 7 plus plus. the immigration didnt even check my luggage. cuma scan thru jerk. tak sesia i beli kiub maggie and knorr berlambak2. should have bought even moreeee!!!! owh and suddenly there is this one big black dog buat tour kat tpt q...eiiiiiiii. thank god i tak kena sniff. mr evil dah warning awal2 jgn nak over react bile anjing datang dekat. terus i pandang tepi just to make sure that i tak notice 'his' arrival.

hmmm....tak byk la plak bila tgk gambar....tp cukup kot utk stock sampai december. bukan nak guna hari2 pun. yg penting just kiub bunjut and tomyam. yg lain tuh saja suka2 beli.

anyway, i was 2 hrs late for my first class...mmg sengaja pun. got my business caps team...hmmm....all girls which is cool...but i got none from local or even 'the sallehs'. dunno what to expect but i hope we wont be having any big issues....this is one big final project (why ever did i rejected the transfer credit for this course...care to answer mr evil???). i got two class yesterday so only came back at quarter past 8. i was expecting my fried hokkien mee from thai singha. masuk umah bau dah sedap.......nope...its not my fried hokkien me....mr evil have to cook dinner yesterday. sian dia....anyway he cooked very delicious stir fry glass noodle....with lots of veges. thats our first decent meal in sydney yesterday. thai singha tak angkat2 tepon so maybe they didnt open yesterday and taste of thai closed for two days until today. mintak2 hari ni thai singha bukak coz seriously i'm not planning to cook coz today is the spring cleaning day!!!

new and old

When the other half conquers the laptop...I'm not getting any TLC from her or the laptop...that's huge problem I usually have since it's her laptop..so that's when I decided to get a wii..it has a browser for internet surfing..I was contented for a while..but to write an entry with it is a pain in the butt...also typing with dopod...such a small keyboard i'm getting thumb cramps....

So yesterday wifey gave an ok to get laptop....woohooo..my 1st choice is a macbook....yes morgan..I didn't get a macbook yet...the pic I showed u previously just me buying it for my officemate...I dun print money here...and after setting it up for arlene...I fell in love with the small details they had in the laptop..its an engineering marvel..when I compared the screen side by side with the thinkpad...it has more umpphh...more lively and vibrant colours...now I understand why graphic designers and photographers prefer apple than windows...or maybe the thinkpad had too much smudges..finger prints...food leftover...bacteria under the keyboard...I can grow a bacteria farm on it...anyway I decided its just too pricey and overrated...I still prefer the thinkpad over anything else...the best analogy is to describe a thinkpad like a volvo and macbook like porsche....volvo exudes prestige and safety and the latter just to show off...nuff said

So now my 2nd choice and only choice I guess is to get an eeepc...the ultra cheap and portable laptop..its been in the market for almost a year and making dell and hp looks like an idiot...they are hammering the market and the major manufacturer are trying to play catch up....they just announced the 8.9 inch screen version for aud550..and the 7inch older sibling popping up in ebay for half the price...heck i'm cheap...just to surf and do some blogging would be enuff with the small screen..not like i'm gonna write a freakin novel or do programming on it....also would be great for a travel companion and dump all my pics in there...

And yes..talking abt pictures...my dslr pic counter have rolled over to 00001 while i'm in kedah...meaning we've shot over 10,000 pictures when I got the camera back in dec. That's quite a feat but saddening coz I still think the pic I took really sucks...and I hate photoshopping pictures..its not my thing....but I truly hold wht the guy who invented light bulb commented on his failure..."I have found 1000 way not to invent a light bulb"..was it thomas edison? Too lazy to look up on wikipedia.....till then..

can i quit my govt job....

and get a new one somewhere near the pavillion...

thursday will always be my fav day of the week....its the start of my weekend..it is the extended shopping hours day here in sydney......and it is my bondi junction day. instead of preparing mr evil lunch early morning, i would always bring his lunchpack myself....alasan kan. anyway, this is my purchase yesterday...a pinkish sunsilk shampoo...wangi...this is not my usual shampoo....the usual artistry shampoo abih dah...sini mana mau beli...infact my a*way membership pun tak ter-renew....anyway, cantikkan shampoo sunsilk pink ni...katanyer fashion designer range...katanyer lahhh

sejuk2 ni makan french 'keladi' fries mmg heaven. goreng plak ngan my latest new toy from typhoon....purrfect. mr evil bought me this new toy last weekend after deciding that our old wok is no longer safe for us to use. home brand punyer so the surface dah terkeluar2...safe and sound in the tummy. of course i was eyeeing for that mr. jamie sets tp mak datok mahalnyer. grilling pan jer dah $200. but surprisingly today, while having lunch at nando's.....

last saturday, jalan2 carik bread slicer kat oriordan st. took the bus and jalan sepanjang jalan...there is no direct bus to the place...mind you tpt ni mcm kat bangi yg banyak pusat latihan bank tu...except sini banyak small warehouse. coincidently, KAS ada buat clearance sale. KAS is a brand name in soft furnishing. so banyak la cushion cover, table runner, table cloth on sale. owh...quilt set pun ada

finally i won the bid on ebay and the toy is officially mine. i wish i can describe the feeling during the last 10 minutes of bidding...phewww. i was telling darling evil since few weeks ago that i wont be baking any new loaf of bread till the day i got hold of this item. almost all the shopping centre in the eastern suburbs have no stock of this precious toy (read: exaggerate). anyway, i hope i tak kena tipu kat ebay.

nice isn't it? bought the middle one during our trip to phillip island for only $50...god knows how i took great care of it through out our road trip. whereas the other two we bought it last weekend, the day we plan to walk along the harbour bridge. we plan to take a train to milson point and back to circular quay by walking along the harbour bridge. elok2 dah beli ticket train baru tau that service is not available up to MP sbb ada railwork. service is only up to wynyard so nak tak nak we just follow suit plus they provide free bus service to our final destination. so turun kat MP ada art and craft market plak....and thats where we bought our metal thingy. so imagine both of us balik jalan kaki lalu harbour bridge with those two things. not much picture were taken at the bridge. anyway, those two things (whatever the name is), i manage to mark down the price from $55 to $40 for BOTH!! am i good or what....ihihihih. initially the price is, $30 for each and $55 for both. i am so so satisfied with my purchase that day. thanks to darling evil for noticing it at first. can imagine how's my Drimba gonna be like?? (mode: dreaming).....tiba2 teringat kat widuri pulak....

big day...special day....

its a special day today, its darling evil big day (clap clap clap). sorry i didnt get you any card etc etc. but remember last year, i replied on your wish list entry that coming here is equal to 10 yrs of big day presents. lurve you!!! i dint get him anything special today except for one book and a lunch treat at serai. oh, and i let him buy his latest toy today without giving any of the 'that look' face. its a new telephoto lense for his dslr.

anyway, we start off our day quite early. the original plan patut lg awal but biasa la kan. took the 9.25am bus to city to catch another bus to the northside sydney. there's a weekend mkt at the park near the council chambers. surprisingly its not that far, just a short distance after the harbour bridge. first time jugak lalu harbour bridge using the public transport(jakun!!). the market was so and so but the atmosphere is great. near the park and great live music. plus easy access with public transport. manage to get a few cheap books. enjoy the pixs...

leather shoes from china. cantik sgt. the 1st one i tried i forgot to check the lining and everything...baru perasan ada 3 titik...ewwww. ada a few yg synthetic lining but its either no size or design kurang umphh..

from the city, we're not that sure how to get to surry hills by bus, so we walk...by the time we arrived its already 2 plus plus and one couple is already leaving. quite cosy and with the lighting and everything, its like a romantic lunch coz there's only us in the rest...hahhaha
