smalam uncle azizuddin and frens from came for visit. then they went out lunch together without us. malas nak ikut pun. biarlah mereka2 bergossip sesama mereka. my mum dah halfway masak. nasi dah masak so i just told them we can just go to Restoran Sri Pumpong beli lauk.

sapa2 yg datang alor setar, make sure datang restoran sri pumpong ni....located at pumpong. how to give direction erk?? from airport...straight to the city...the rest is on your right just before kedah medical centre. kalau from city....the other way round lah yerk...i'm so bad at giving direction. there's another rest selang 2-3 kedai yg lauk lg happening and dadih dia so sedap....Restoran Dee Pumpong. but i still prefer sri pumpong for its ikan keli bakar and sambal sotong kering



semua ni RM31 (minus air asam and sambal hijau yg free tu)...kalau bahagi 3 baru dalam AUD10...murah jerk...ahahahaha. sayur keladi, ketam masak lemak, keli bakar, kerabu mangga and ulam petai.

monday - 14th july

hari ni perayaan jubli emas sultan kedah. so me and mr evil plan nak pegi tgk parade early morning. lid ngan umi pun memula bersungguh nak pi. lid kata dia larat. i insist NOOOO. last2 dia tak mo pi but insist nak hantar kitorang and again i said NOOO. umi memula nak pi siap lid suh umi pakai kasut sukan so that tak sakit kaki. last2 tak pi jugak sbb nak tgk live telecast kat tv jerk. oh...both of us pun pi lewat tak pi pun tgk parade first because hujan 2nd because tetiba malas. pi kol 9 lebih just tgk2 crowd.

anyway, yesterday lid discharged from hospital after 5 hari kena kurung. tupun lid nak mintak cuti from doctor nak balik umah and i tak bagi jugak sbb kalau tak mesti dia tak dok diam kat umah. smalam sampai2 jer umah terus meluru pi belakang umah keluar amik gunting pokok and tgk pokok2 dia...tuh umi kata nasib baik mesin rumput rosak...heheheh. but anyway, mlm smalam we decided to check out wisma darulaman sbb nak tgk bahtera emas bersalut suasa or is it the other way round. so here are some pixs....

the last 2 weeks...

this is from the last 2 weeks. i bawak balik my olympus camera tp lupa nak bawak balik usb cable. so kena tunggu mr evil.

the reason why i balik...my father. his doin his chemo. dulu i have no idea chemo ni mcm mana. ingatkan something yg complicated. process only took like 2 hrs. but thennnn...we checked in kat hospital say early morning around 9am....pukul 3 ptg pun chemo tak mula lagik!!! i dont want to blame the doctor ke nurses ke sbb maybe ada some urgent matters. plus hari chemo mmg kena every thursday. thursday and monday hari busy sedunia for doctors and nurses kat HSB sbb its the operation day. anyway, process chemo is like...masuk air satu botol...then ubat chemo sebotol...then air sebotol. semua tuh nurse yg akan buat tp ubat chemo tuh doctor yg kena bancuh. my father kena buat chemo until bulan 9 then doctor akan scan utk tgk apa2 yg patut.

i heartttttt the new hospital. seriously sgt selesa. this is the 4 bedded room. usually kalau chemo satu hari dpt bilik utk 2 org or 4 org. kalau chemo lima hari so far mmg dpt bilik utk sorang...lg comfy sbb ada tv. but i totally forgot to take pics of the single bedded room.

i noticed selang 1-2 hari mesti ada relatives or friends datang visit kat umah or hosp. Alhamdullillah. lid kata sonok org datang borak2...boleh lupa sekejap kita sakit... :)

before balik hari tuh dah niat nak beli laptop for my father. discuss with my sista so dia pun mcm setuju. at least dia leh browse the net baca current issues yg mcm2 skang ni. memula lid tak mau sbb tak nampak the use of it. then i bawak pi cc....bukak blog tok det and my sista. and dia betol2 interested. siap tanyer mcm mana nak buat blog. dia nak bubuh gambar dr dia kecik. tp tak lama pastu dia kata tak mo plak. thats my father reading my sista's blog. check out the entry. owh i nak promote cc yg i pi ni...nama MNY Computer and Internet kot kat jalan sultanah. sejam RM2 jerk. laju plak tuh. tak mcm kat star parade tuh...hampeh.

Now in old town kopitiam alor setar kat jalan apa ntah. We just got back frm sultan's 50 yrs erk....wat u call it....perayaan jubli emas. Tak nampak sultan tp nampak tengkolok je. We park our car kat stadium and have to walk all the way to balai besar. Ni nak jalan balik tghari buta...freaking hot...

I'm waiting for my flite..it was delayed to 3pm instead...but at least jetstar smsed me last nite abt the delay...I dun have to rush off early in the morning..that's great service..
My officemate already looking forward for their goodies from msia...kerry wants a fridge magnet..mark wants a chilli crab..yeah like tha gonna happened...arlene wants an orangutan or sun bear...and mind u...I never knew sun bear only exist in malaya...or ever exist in that matter...I had a heated discussion with her abt the freaking bear..that my teacher never talked abt the bear..or it was just a huge cover up by the govt on their failure to protect the animal..or the easiest expalanation..I skipped tht class...and as a zoologist..she knew better...I always joked...I ate those wretched bear for dinner..yummy...it wasn't that funny for her..I mean I think I'm a funny guy but sometimes they didn't get my jokes and vice versa...we'll be looking at each other blinking our eyes after finishing the jokes without a single laughter..tough crowd...
I was chatting with my fren the other abt my journey home..and he said "dude, ur the perfect profile for a terrorist", I was huh!....well its bcoz i'll be travelling alone...no check in bag...no clothes...too many electronic for 1 person...well at least I didn't wore my turban and shaved my beard...
I really hope I won't be the next dr haneef..that was a fiasco..mom i'm on tv....

today is the launching of iphone in sydney and somebody dah buat the evil plan nak beli the phone while i;m back in malaysia. so he's gonna give me his dopod and ipod...but dear darling evil...i dont like ur dopod...its too bulky...and i dont think i can make full use of ur ipod.

but let say of u really gonna get it....gunakan konsep....BUY ONE, MUST BUY ANOTHER ONE.

While you're gone...Day 7

Exactly 1 week without the other half...not that bad...the place still in one piece...i'm not dying from hunger....as matter of fact..think i'm gaining weight...in 2004 the documentary titled Supersize Me was released...a tale of a healthy man eats nothing but Big Mac and fries for 30 days....
Seems like i'm making the sequel...eating only Oporto's for 2 weeks.....and i dun think i'm gonna eat chicken anymore for the rest of my life!! I've tried every conceivable halal menus in there and i'm sick of it. I dun mind cooking at home...but doing the dishes is another matter...btw..i did washed the dishes last weekend but 2 days later the damn dishes cropped up again like mushroom..think they are growing in there..
On sunday..i went to the art thingy bobby again..but in another venue...Cockatoo Island..the largest art show in the whole festival...it's a former prison...sorta Pulau Jerjak or Alcatraz...loved that movie - The Rocks....malaysian should have an escape movie too shot in pulau jerjak...would that be cool..
Anyways, i thought the art show gonna showcase some sculpture or paintings where enthusiast alike would disect the meaning of such art in a obnoxious manner...with a pipe in one hand and clutching catalogue to purchase such art...brightly lit halls with clean floors....well..it did not happened...the place is a mess.....the artist did not clean up the mess...to give the uniquness..walls with holes....dirty floor..it was freakishly dark...smelly toilets..imagine ur school toilet smell..its that kind of smell..

..dark hallway....its a place one can shoot a horror movie...literally scary place ur stranded at night....a deserted buildings with broken windows..it was different...
The art itself are pretty out of this world...there's one guy cutting himself with knives..and burnt his finger on a lit candle...it was self mutilation...i was squirming all the way to the end of the hall with each rooms have its own bodily harm...
They're some abt political issue..the war..the oil...the terrorism and capitalism..i do get this one
Then they're graffitis on the wall...looks like drawing made by school kids in the toilet...you'll get the idea..but instead its art...go figure....

I did not cover the whole place..coz the place is pretty huge..and it's getting dark..me don't like dark places..i took the next ferry out of the island...gonna go there again f i got the time this saturday....below some pictures i took....most of it are dark and impossible to be captured here....

Fren from school...

nope...not mine but my father. Pak Ku ni kawan my father from Badlishah, junior dia. sama2 main hockey zaman dahulu kala. kalau ikut add Pak Ku yg my father dpt dia duduk kat Pagewood. dekat2 ngan area Eastgarden tu still within the eastern suburb. bila dah telefon say hi apa semua, got his new add.....laaaa.....dok maroubra beach jugak rupanyer. so i'm not the only melayu yg dok sini...hahahaha. check kat google map...dekat sangat....walking distance jer kalau ikut marine parade tuh.

Dolphin Tour - Port Stephens

kalau tak silap we got home from our sydney-melbourne-canberra-sydney trip on friday, so saturday rehat2 pusing dlm sydney jerk then on sunday gi port stephens. nampak mcm penat kan but alang2 dah sewa kita unlimited km so better make full use of it. nasib baik our dolphin tour ni timing elok tak ramai org...rasa dlm cruise to ada la dlm 50 org kot. so senang sikit nak bukak mata cari dolphin.....

ni pokok rosemary bukan saya yg beli tp mr evil yg beli (tp i yg pilih pasu kolor pink). beli kat camden craft market masa time my parents datang. satu pasu ni $10 jerk. ada mcm2 herbs lagi jual. ok lah...so far masih bernyawa lagik pokok ni. cuma dah tak setinggi mcm dlm gambar. salu guna utk marinate lamb.

Day 4

yeah..gonna skip day 3 coz its gonna be mundane and monotonous....weekend is here...and i have to struggle one more saturday before ditching this island....

I have solved one mystery..why i'm feeling depressed and miserable..not bcoz the mrs is away and enjoying heavenly food in AS...but i've been listening to lots of depressing songs...the story goes like this..since i want to finish up my download quota...i've been on a downloading binge of mp3s and movies and games. Frankly speaking, i'm not up to date with the current tunes, so i would go back to songs i've listened during school days...the likes of Metallica and Nirvana...yeah..the tight jeans and big mullet hair...rock on!!....most of their songs are abt death..or suicide or something horrible and alot of screaming....maybe i was trying to relive my younger days with those songs..but it gave me headaches instead.....so i did some research...meaning googling and looked for a lesser deafening music and found couple of good albums with a more relaxing tunes...such as jack johnson, newton faulkner and pete murray....their songs are manly..not lovey dovey type but full of happy thoughts....thats the best way i can describe it...another artist i found is Kimya dawson...her song was featured in the movie Juno - Anyone else but you, in the closing credit where Ellen Page and Michael Sera sang the song....kinda quirky but fun to listen....but i like this song better...



Ok..coming back to my weekend...didn't do anything productive at home except for figuring out how to be more effecient in the kitchen...i so plan to cook more oven type food so i would reduce the usage of the frying pans with greasy oils on it...With the oven...i can just cover the baking tray with tin foils and let it cook without any human intervention....the cleaning process will easier buy chucking the foils away...less grease and other gooey stuff....

Starting June till Sept..sydney got this art thingy going on all over the place..so i decided to go out and check it out..I went to Pier 2/3 in walsh bay...1 km from the Rocks.....and there was like 3 exhibitions...and i'd pretend to be an art connoisseur...so bare with me on this

1. The car crushed by a huge boulder....i didn't see any description on the meaning of it...but i can assume to be more careful and obey road signs..rocks falling from the sky 1km ahead


















2. A wooden box with cone like attached to it...i did read the description..but i still dun get it. But who am i to judge....


















3. The coolest of all.....art are usually weird things one see with eyes...well that's my lame uneducated ignorant interpretation...but here it's about surrounding yourself with sounds...and sound only....this duo artist setup about 40 or so speakers around the wharf...speakers on the chairs..hanging from the ceiling...on the floor and audience would just sit around this old looking speaker and listen to a 30 minutes story....it starts with a single narrator voice from the old speaker...talking abt dripping blood ...creaking floor...wind gushing..kinda like a thriller movie...then thunderous sound of waves and musics in between the scene....the way they set up the speakers really engulfed me in the story....coz the sounds travel between one speaker to another...so a footstep sounds like somebody really walking around you..or away from you...it did scared the living daylight out of me on certain scene....it was so immersive....after the show ended i checked out the sound system..it got 20 units of Yamaha DSP amps...whoaaaaaa....i need to get one of these....mental note...put this in my wishlist...




Okay...enough adventure for 1 day...tomorrow should be more interesting i hope.............

Cockington Garden

My sista reminded me few times to visit the Cockington Green Garden. eventhough the place tutup officially pukul 5 tapi last visitor kena masuk the latest by 4.15 sbb nak pusing2 dlm tu takes times. we arrived like a few minutes after 4.15 so i have to merayu giler2 kat cashier tuh mintak bagi masuk. sib baik dia bagi jugak last2. walaupun sekejap jer but still puas hati tgk miniature gardens dlm tuh. at least ada something worth visiting kat canberra.

6.15am - Alarm clock rang...snoozee
6.30am - Alarm clock rang again...snooze....
6.31am -it's difficult to move my butt without somebody pushing and shoving
6.55am - defrost the chicken wings....
6.58am - helloooo 353 buses...
7.15am - Loaf and Leaf..the guy already knew my face....just like the kedai mamak " boss, mcm biasa"
7.20am - punched in...but i wrote 7.15am instead...hehehe

1200 - arlene wants to cooked me seafood pasta at her place....i was stunned...my unconcious mind is saying..foooooooood......she knows i cant have pork or wine..so she gonna get prawns in eastgarden and also basil pesto...yummyyyy....10 minutes later... i realised i can't eat at her place with the utensils she'll be using...aiseymennn...my judgement is easily clouded whenever food involved...sigh

1.00pm - walked up to her and slowly declined her offer..explained to her why..i volunteered my place for her to cook...but another problem..she gonna have to bring Tia..her puppy..her weird and clueless dog as arlene always put it....so there goes my free lunch or dinner....

4.15pm i'm outta here...rushed back to maroubra...

...my mind went blank..i dunno wat i did after that..sorta auto mode...but yet i still remember not doing the dishes...i can see it from here...no smell yet...that's always good news...maybe i'll do it tomorrow...but i'm running out of teaspoons...mental note " need to buy more teaspoon"....and another important mental note " need to get a dishwasher for drimba" -

received a newsletter from optus..my prepaid mobile phone - 3G iPhone is available starting 11th Jul....i'm very much tempted to get it..but after thinking abt it...8GB of memory really a rip off...my 80GB ipod is way much better and lot less cheaper....i still have 40Gb free space...or maybe i should consider this...bravia full HD with a free PS3 to boot.......decision..decision...

11.30pm - snores....i mean dun think i did..but nobody can prove me otherwise...

7.45am - stopped by Loaf and Leaf for my raisin toast and large flat white with 3 sugars
8.ooam - arrival....sigh...manage to survive the morning ordeal
8.05am - damn..forgot to defrost my dinner...arghhhhhhhhhhhh

3.00pm - signed off and walked to Linda's - my fav tailor here...need to repair my jacket- AU45...ouch
3.15pm - the 400 bus to eastgarden arrived and i decided..what the heck...better get my lunch cum dinner there
3.45pm - walked in to mansour's...they called yesterday evening..the flannel bed sheet i ordered is in.. the lady said there was a huge screw up in the ordering but they managed to saved one for me...sheesh...
3.50pm - went to the food court and ordered fish and chips....so 1 meal is done...many more to go till 13th jul
4.30pm - took the 353 bus to my place....saw the dirty dishes...been meaning to do it since morning...but nahhh...it can wait till tomorrow
7.00pm - switched on the tv...it's Air Crash Investigation.....owhh crapp....i dun want to watch it..but it is soo tempting..wifey usually be screaming whenever i watch this series..but nobody can stop me now...i'm gonna regret this later....or sooner....
8.30pm - channel surfing...and watched House MD..the rerun...wat the heck..i'm bored...the thinkpad is still busy downloading movies and games..need to utilise my 50GB of quota by next week...
10.20pm - called wifey..she had grilled fish or wateva they had.....i hate u!!

tadaaa...surprise??!!! yeah...it is me updating...the beauty of auto-publish la kan. anyway, i'm trying hard here to prepare a total of 14 entries while i'm parted with my dearest mrs thinking pad. it will be a short entry though. i'm planning to put one or two pics or more from our melbourne-canberra roadtrip yg sampai ke laaaa ni ada org tu tak buat2 langsung review. all the entries are not in any particular order...sukahati ai nak letak gambar apa dulu kan. plus maybe ada la a few entry yg tak berkaitan ngan roadtrip tu.

anyway, to start with...kat bawah ni gambar kat parliament, canberra. i didnt expect we can actually tour inside the house itself. punyer lah lama tour dlm tu sampai nyaris tak leh visit cockinton garden. so, the green coloured one is for the House of Rep while the red or maroon couloured one is for the Senate. kalau kat m'sia yg hijau tuh kira DR and merah plak DN. the last time i duty rasanyer in 2006, giler lama. i bet this time around mesti best duty parlimen.

i dunno whether kat sini they have govt officers on duty during the sitting. sbb mcm tak nampak any allocated seats for them. plus tpt duduk kat belakang tuh mcm tinggi sgt kalau nak passing2 maklumat. but then, tak tau la how the system here work. kalau kat tv nampak mcm malap jer both halls, tp bila tgk betol....wah cantik nyer....nampak modern sgt.
