SFI latest issue ada 1 whole page of 10 crumbles recipe guna rolled oats. coincidently i ada banyak sgt rolled oats lepas buat anzac biscuits (owh! esok anzac day....kena buat lg ke biscuit itu?). so skang leh try2 buat crumbles plak lps ni. mcm2 recipe dia bagi so i made one...apple crumble. sapa suka apple pie suka la ni kot. except for the pastry dia guna crumble....best!!
Recipe:
6 medium granny smith apple, peeled, cored and cut into wedges
2 tbs lemon juice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
Topping:
50g butter, chilled, chopped
1/4 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup plain flour
1 cup rolled oat
combine apple, lemon juice, cinnamon and suga in saucepan over medium low heat. stir until sugar has dissolved. cook and covered for 8 - 10 mins or until apples are just tender. transfer to ovenproof dish
Topping: using your fingertips, rub ingredients together in a bowluntil mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Bake for 20 - 25 mins
so this is it, my apple crumble with custard (ready made je). i think i prefer apple crumble compared to the normal apple pie sbb topping crumble sgt crunchy munchy. and i think it would taste even better with vanilla ice cream....custard tak ngam sgt. 1st time cuba so i buat half dulu
this is another crumble recipe baru buat kemarin - lemon cheesecake crumbles. tak minat sgt sbb too creamy tp mr evil suka plak.
500g cream cheese, softened
2 tbs finely grated lemon rind
1/2 cup caster sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup thickened cream
using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, lemon rind and sugar until light and fluffy. add eggs one at a time, beating until combined. add cream, beat until combined. spoon into paper cases. buh la topping kat atas and bakar - 150 degrees.
