somewhere last year during one weekend, i was busy at home doin my assignment so mr evil decided to go and watch a movie all by himself....and he came home bringing me this....

a g*orge f*reman lean meat grilling machine....

last week, the wife decided to create her very own homemade kebab (kot). so the wife marinate the small pieces of chicken breast and grilled it....

spread out the lebanese bread...put some ready washed salads from coles together with sweet chilli plus dijon mustard.
and voilaaaaaaaaaa......my homemade kebab. perlu ke beli sandwich press pulak? nahhhhh

masuk blog zazz, tgk dia makan nasi ayam...terus i semangat nak buat nasi ayam pulak. but for my nasi ayam i didnt put the typical salad sbb malas nak beli sekali byk then dont know what to do with it. so i just use my mixed herbs salad which is much much more delicious. and there is no tomato sbb my darling evil tak layan sgt tomato mentah. and tadaaa....got the recipe from here. tp i adjust sket coz i dont have daun pandan so i letak jugak air rebusan ayam i masa masak nasi tu. tak yellow kan nasi i..but taste wise sedap hoooo


masuk plak blog ayoi...dia promo junk foods pulak dah...so this morning went to the oriental shop and bought the usual one pack of mamee monster....ronda2 sket kat shelf junk food sekali nampak my all time fav...super rings!!! how come la before this tak pernah perasan. try jugak bukak mata kot2 ada twisties...sib baik takdak...kalau tak ayoi and family mauu meleleh tgk twisties i beli




and on sunday, ada lebih cheddar cheese masa buat lasagna for our PG Day so i buat cheesy windmill for our tea time. ni lepas ni no more cheese in our house....asyik makan cheese jer last week....dr cheesecake..ke lasagna.

senang jerk buat ni....potong puff empat segi....then each slice tuh potong every corner tp jgn sampai ujung....then tabur cheddar cheese kat tgh....and then bring the end of every corner ke tengah and tekan kasi dia lekat. then sapu susu and tabur gula halus atas...and bakar...so easy kan. so jes...i leh bukak bakery pulak tak?

my crumbles....

kalau update just with one pix and a line or two tu maknanyer apa? maknanyer i busy or malas or no mood or nothing to write...haahahah. gojes suh i venture into food business...BIG NO...nice pics (nice ke?) doesnt mean the food is super duper delicious. anyway, i wanna share with you some of my must have mags every month....

goodtaste by woolies and super food ideas. i came across goodtaste while having dinner at thai singha. whereas super food ideas kisah nyer tersalah beli tp terus tersuka. both mags provide super duper very easy to made meal. BHG plak dulu rajin la dok beli tp dah lama2 tuh malas plak....so dah tak termasuk category must-have dah. tgk program dia kat tv cukup lah...

SFI latest issue ada 1 whole page of 10 crumbles recipe guna rolled oats. coincidently i ada banyak sgt rolled oats lepas buat anzac biscuits (owh! esok anzac day....kena buat lg ke biscuit itu?). so skang leh try2 buat crumbles plak lps ni. mcm2 recipe dia bagi so i made one...apple crumble. sapa suka apple pie suka la ni kot. except for the pastry dia guna crumble....best!!

Recipe:
6 medium granny smith apple, peeled, cored and cut into wedges
2 tbs lemon juice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup of firmly packed brown sugar

Topping:
50g butter, chilled, chopped
1/4 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup plain flour
1 cup rolled oat

combine apple, lemon juice, cinnamon and suga in saucepan over medium low heat. stir until sugar has dissolved. cook and covered for 8 - 10 mins or until apples are just tender. transfer to ovenproof dish

Topping: using your fingertips, rub ingredients together in a bowluntil mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Bake for 20 - 25 mins

so this is it, my apple crumble with custard (ready made je). i think i prefer apple crumble compared to the normal apple pie sbb topping crumble sgt crunchy munchy. and i think it would taste even better with vanilla ice cream....custard tak ngam sgt. 1st time cuba so i buat half dulu

this is another crumble recipe baru buat kemarin - lemon cheesecake crumbles. tak minat sgt sbb too creamy tp mr evil suka plak.

500g cream cheese, softened
2 tbs finely grated lemon rind
1/2 cup caster sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup thickened cream

using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, lemon rind and sugar until light and fluffy. add eggs one at a time, beating until combined. add cream, beat until combined. spoon into paper cases. buh la topping kat atas and bakar - 150 degrees.

During my studies day in MMU, alot of internal webserver ran by students posted tonnes of international and rare advert...funny...hillarious...I always remembered the one from Adidas during the fifa world cup..where you got eric cantona and the frenchmens battling it out in a large oil tanker..that was awesome...
Recently, here..local channel have aired a Saab advert on their new model with bio diesel power....what's strikes me is the song..it was so beautiful and kept lingering in my head for weeks...so i decided to youtube it and found the original singer....and boy...after reading thru the net...i was surprised the killer whale featured in the advert was abt Lolita...an orca incarcerated for more than 30yrs in a small tank exploited for the sake of entertainment...to this day...activist are still fighting for her freedom...and that song really strike a chord to me.....kudos to the Saab team for educating me abt Lolita..a small minded person who couldn't care less abt a mammal are truly touched by it...The movie Free Willy too was loosely based on this event..

sejuk2 ni makan french 'keladi' fries mmg heaven. goreng plak ngan my latest new toy from typhoon....purrfect. mr evil bought me this new toy last weekend after deciding that our old wok is no longer safe for us to use. home brand punyer so the surface dah terkeluar2...safe and sound in the tummy. of course i was eyeeing for that mr. jamie sets tp mak datok mahalnyer. grilling pan jer dah $200. but surprisingly today, while having lunch at nando's.....

tp satu jer la kuali baru ni....its too big for me to handle. setakat nak goreng ikan seketol mcm kelakar jer. tp takper...i'm being practical. takkan nak beli kuali mcm2 size kot...this is not padang besar.

out of the blue....mr evil was called for an interview at the MSD schedule today. but he plan not to go...dah seronok keje ngan mat salleh katanyer. i thot so too....everyday after work i would always ask him how's work....what do u chat with aireen. aireen ni gilfren dia kat opis.....hahaha....she's frm US...salu ajar kitorang how to cook western food....what to marinate what with what...where to go for vacation....where to shop....and most importantly when is the next SALES!!! i dunno her personally actually....we just 'communicate' thru mr evil...owh did i mention one fine day dia bagi i sebotol chilli oil utk rasa....brand lee kum kee kot...tp the brand name mmg ada kat m'sia. i think mr evil was chatting with her psl spicy food apa semua...then she suggested the chili oil. the next day terus bawak pi opis nak bagi i try...mr evil siap cakap u can just give me the brand name then we can buy...she said no, try it first if it suits u. punyer lah baik kannn.....tak pernah dlm sejarah org 'pinjamkan' bahan masakan dia kat i....

all i have to do is to 'go for my retail theraphy'. with reference to my entry in march (mcm ayat gomen plak).....here are the stuffs that i bought. dunno what happen i was feeling so blue that day...to be exact...turqoise actually.....

got myself 4 sets of cushion cover at the price of $7 each!!!. wanted to buy the inner cushion as well...but we travel by bus plus have to walk like 1km to the nearest busstop...next trip maybe.

sekali pandang mcm alas kaki...berkali2 pandang pun mcm alas kaki....but i like it so much...and its heavy...

i didnt know that turqoise and brown can 'clique' together so well...

staying at home means there is nothing much that i can blog about except for the food that i cook/baked for my mr genius.....


dah lama tak makan ayam masak kicap ngan nasi impit. this is must-have meal kalau 1st day raya kat sirpunk. tak tau la apa yg special tp mmg best. nak masak pun senang coz u dont have to fry the chicken...just cook everything at one go....

my apam gula hangus yg nyaris tak jadi. i thot tak jadi sbb i kukus sekijap sangat so the colour doesnt turn out like the one sold kat gerai2 tepi jalan tuh. i need to get a smaller acuan if i were to cook this again(dah aim dah kat hot dollar).

my thincrust hawaiian hotdog pizza....kat sini takde masalah nak makan pizza sbb banyak turkish rest yg jual...tp their pizza is the typical pizza base yg tebal.

dah lama tak tunjuk mr genius nyer lunch pack...tak masak kerr??? hahahaha. that is not daging kicap but meat bulgogi....it is a korean dish. terror kan i masak korean food. siap letak sesame seeds lagi utk garnish...well, dalam packet dia suh letak (opppsss). owh by the way, this is so nice. terus i google for the recipe...kalau nak beli instant packet salu kayap la.

and today i baked anzac cookies sempena anzac day next month...hahaha. got this recipe from one of the food magazine that i bought. sedapp but too sweet...lepas ni kena kurang kan gula

ni tag zaman bila yer yani suh buat. actually dah lama amik gambar tp camera tersetting raw data so malas nak convert ke the normal file format.
anyway, this is my petiais buruk...beli 2nd hand jerk. penuh ngan magnet beli masa road trip hari plus calendar magnet dr serata wakil rakyat kat sini. bagus wakil rakyat ni bagi calendar magnet tuh kan. tak lupa juga calendar weekend market kat camden and castlehill.

ni belah freezer....penuh ngan frost..ahahhaha. penuh jer kan freezer i...nampak sgt masa ni baru lepas pi halal butcher. bekas putih tu vanila icecream nak buat a&w float. atas dia my frozen burger bun. pehtu ada la daging, ayam and lamb rib. yg bekas bulat tuh serai blend. belah bawah tuh mixed vege and 2 bekas chicken chips yg sangat sedap. kat blakang tak nampak ada la pratha, frozen pastry and frozen stir fry vege.

kena citer satu2 ker yani??? malas la...i hilite yg penting jer. yg dlm jar kecik tulis doritos tuh my favorite tomato salsa...makan ngan corn chips...sedap!!! sebelah dia tuh perencah indian food apa ntah...sila besar kan gambar and baca sendrik. belah bawah tuhnampak mcm chocolate bar tp bukan yer itu cooking chocolate just in case tetiba nak buat kek ceklat ka choco pot kaa. rasa nyer ada tupperware isi sardin gak tuh plus leftover sambal cuka makan ngan nasi air.

ni rak atas ada tupperware asam keping, sambal kicap, homemade kuah rojak, gula melaka, galangal, and bungkus2 spices. dalam foil tuh roti burger yg dah siap dibakar. i always kept half as frozen and the remaining half siap bakar semua. nak guna perangat je. rak bawah ada whip cream utk mr evil nyer hot chocolate, pehtu satu bekas plum. plum yg kecik tuh nama sweet plum...lazat betoll. smalam ada org tuh dah sekali hadap satu bekas i nyer sweet plum!!!! kena tambah stock semula!! next is my jagungg...me and jagung tak dapat dipisah kan...mesti ada stock dlm peti ais. ats dia pre-wash salad...ni pun must have dlm peti ais i. seblah dlm brown paper bag tuh mushroom...belakang dia apa ntah. belah bawah rak tuh mcm biasa tpt vege...tp malas i nak amik gambor


ni belah tepi fridge...tak byk space kan...ada air kosong...a&w rootbeer for our float and susu for mr evil's hot chocolate. belakang nipis tuh seaweed yg utk buat sushi tuh...apa ke nama dia??? belah atas malas la nak describe tgk sendrik. atas sekali tuh itak tau apa fungsi...sungguh nyakitkan hati. org sini makan telor banyak...so depa tak buh telor dlm petiais arakian mmg takdak tpt telor dlm petiais...sekian

2 X 5 adalah perumpamaan yang sering digunakan untuk menggambarkan keadaan seperti mengata orang tapi ko pun sama jugak...hampeh!! hahahah

contohnya, hari tu masa sesuatu negeri di utara semenanjung tuh dok melantik MB yg bukan menang majoriti dlm k'jaan campuran, seorg pemimpin telah tak setuju...malah hendak memboikot majlis angkat sumpah ke apa ntah. abih semua org kecoh kononnyer tak hormat keputusan sultan. maka pemimpin itu pun mintak maaf atas tindakan beliau. and now ni, jugak di sebuah negeri di utara semenanjung dan jugak di sebuah negeri di pantai timur semenanjung pun jadi isu yg sama....beza nyer dua states ni bawah kerajaan pemeerintah yg sama...no campur2. the funny thing is, MB yg dilantik ada possibility utk dipecat lagi. seeee the konsep of 2 X 5 telah berlaku disini. i am not so sure procedure pelantikan MB ni camne tp nampak mcm kena dpt perkenan sultan jer kan. i dont want to comment abt the individual involve because i dont know their track record as a wakil rakyat. maybe kita tahu sikit tp tak semua yg kita tahu tu betol. tp dulu rasa nya tak penah kot jadi isu bab lantik2 MB ni. whatever happen to my country skang ni...sungguh menakutkan.....

my class just started like 2 weeks already and now i am already having my mid semester break. funny huh??!!! mampus la lepas ni straight 10 weeks. anyway, a week ago hubby made this crazy plan...lets go to great barrier reef...erk...huh??? so i did my research...cannot lah dear, it is too short notice. flight pun mahal. so kami made another new plan...it is in our travel-to-do list. we're going here for horse riding and quad biking (big grin). we're goin for an overnite stay. so will be back this monday....daaaaaaaaaaa

A new found love

For the past 3 weeks i've been watching sh*t load of movies..especially those featured in the recent Oscar...i'm just waiting to get a copy of There Will Be Blood..and i would khatam the whole lot...adding to that movies are slew of unnamed movies that didn't make it to Oscar...like Persepolis...a french cartoon with the backdrop of Iranian revolution...and it's in monochrome...how cool is that..and recently just watched Lars and the Real Girl...based on a true story abt a delusional guy falling in love with a sex doll....and how his friends and family supported him all the way regardless the circumstances...and NO...yup...no indecent scene...family approved :)

But the movie i want to write abt is Across the Universe....and it's a musical..yeah me..musical..like day and night..the last movie I've watched and liked was That Thing you Do by Tom Hanks if it can be considered a musical...but this movie made me fall in love again with the Beatles...over 30 songs from their album was presented in a seamless storyline...a simple story abt a boy and a girl falling in love but what make it different than the rest was the background of the movie...they set it during the riot of the 60's..the vietnam war...social injustice...and psychedelic era of hippies...in your face technicolors type of movie...the movie are not meant to be dissected with intelligence but to be enjoyed as is...especially if you're a beatlemania...which i'm not...i got to admit..i do listen to them once awhile in the car or on the radio..but that's it...but this movie made me smile and sad in a corny way....it made me wanna listen to the lyric more carefully and enjoy the 2 hr music video extravaganza...

The movie rendition of Let It Be is THY best i've ever heard...regardless how many times artists esp Idol series belted out..it really captures the emotion of that era....maybe here i can really see the message what John and Paul trying to say......kudos to the writers for incorporating historical events like the riot in detroit...the home made bomb by the activist and many2 more...it made me look to up to wikipedia and read up...and i always hated history subjects!!

The cameo appearance by Bono U2 singing I am the walrus was funny and hip...Salma Hayek as the nurse..and other famous ppl that I dun recognise..

It made me looked for the soundtrack and while writing this entries...i'm listening to Come Together..their own rendition....it's a feast of musical celebration....the last time i listened to a complete album based on OST was The Last of the Mohicans....yeah..that long ago

Two charismatic characters representing Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin was respectedly portrayed..these are the ppl who made music and rock as what it is today...god how i wish i was born during their time...my father would loved this movie....kids may be turned off though....coincidentally I recently listened to Bob Dylan....and whoaaaa...their music carries messages abt current issues..sending messages..to the people..to the country and to the administration...what we've been listening to the MTV nowadays are bunch of crap about booties and bling bling.....

In essence...though we're now in 2008 but one have to look back in the past....cherish the memories...learn from mistakes and be wiser in the future...The Beatles have created music that can paved across time and beyond boundaries and yet still relevant till today....I just hoped the new cabinet would watch it.........just stop talking....and start listening...listen to the people....

Okay...i got carried away just now....back to the movie....i fully recommend to anybody to watch it...it got my seal of approval....just sing out loud....oh btw...most of the songs were sung by the casts themselves...no hindustan cum miming version here...and it was live......how bout that........

hari tuh (dah lama dah) on our way back from st ives lalu ku-ring-gai...at the traffic lite we spotted this guy waiting to cross the road with his coffee. it was raining by the way. we immeadiately snap his picture...lepas dah snap baru la dia nak posing dgn peace sign (mcm i salu buat tuh...ahahha). tak sempat nak second snap...sbb traffic lite dah green. dia ni mr brendan...the opposition leader kat sini. sekian
